Introduction
Knowing what to expect makes a trip abroad easier. This is how a treatment with one of our partner clinics in Chișinău usually goes, step by step. The details depend on your procedure and on your doctor.
1. Before you travel
You tell us what you need and we match you with one of our partner clinics. We share your medical information with the clinic and help you get a written treatment plan and quote. You can ask questions before you book, and we recommend that you do. It helps to have your questions ready, including who will treat you and what is included in the price.
Travel insurance is part of preparing too. We can help you arrange it through our partner insurer HanseMerkur. Conditions and price are set by the insurer, so read the policy documents before you agree.
2. Travel and arrival
We arrange transfers between the airport, your hotel and the clinic, and we book a four-star hotel in central Chișinău. Read more in our article about your arrival and airport pickup.
3. Meeting the doctors
At the clinic, the doctors assess you in person and confirm the treatment plan. This is the moment to ask any remaining questions. Make sure you understand the plan and agree with it before any procedure starts. Your treatment and all medical decisions are in the hands of the clinic's doctors.
4. The treatment
The treatment is carried out by the clinic's team. What it involves, and how long it takes, depends on your procedure.
5. Monitoring and recovery
After a procedure there is a monitoring period, which your doctor decides on. The first days are usually spent in the hospital, then you move to a hotel. Read how this works in our article about recovering in a four-star hotel. During this period you cannot fly.
6. The final check and going home
When the doctor is satisfied, you have a final check, free of charge as part of the post-op check. After the green light, we arrange your transfer back to the airport and you fly home.
7. Once you are home
AxiomMed stays in contact with the doctors for up to 2 months after you return, so you can ask questions. If you have concerns about your recovery, follow the instructions you received from the clinic.
What stays the same and what differs
The steps above are the same for most treatments. The length of the stay, the number of appointments and the recovery time differ per procedure and per person, which is why we ask you to confirm them with the clinic before you book.
